Choose your device

Not sure which device to use?

If you are starting from nothing and want a straight recommendation:

• Cheapest and most flexible – an Amazon Firestick. It plugs into any TV with an HDMI port, costs very little, and the player app is free.
• Tidiest – a Samsung or LG Smart TV running the app directly. No extra box, no second remote. Note the app makers charge a small one-off activation fee.
• Simplest to live with – a MAG box. Switch on and you are looking at a channel list, with nothing to install. Good for anyone who finds apps confusing.
• Best picture – an Apple TV 4K, if you already own one. Excellent decoder and a fast interface, but expensive to buy purely for this.

Something not working?
